Eric, thinking out loud here, and maybe this is obvious... But I suppose it's probable and even likely in our society, for the left brain to be in charge, even in our leisure (attempts). Here in the Midwest, outdoor activities like hunting and fishing are common.... But these look a lot like competitive sports these days.... I've seen some of the most reckless and non-neighborly behavior in the pursuit of deer, pheasants, etc.
I recall one time, shooting a legal limit of peasants with my family in a short time, because there was an abundance of birds. High fives and hollering, I guess because we "won". I remember feeling slightly odd about that.
On a different note: I think it goes without saying, our Orange Messiah is left brain dominant, a reflection of all of us....

First, all things can be done with a RH or LH bent. That's the crux of the Hemisphere Hypothesis. Both halves of the brain are involved in everything we do (that's why the 1970s men are from Mars and women from Venus fad became discredited quickly). It's HOW we attend to everything we do--either with the way the LH attends to them or the way the RH attends to them--that makes the difference. If a recreational activity veers into competition, that makes it more left hemispheric. Not wrong, just more LH. When does it go wrongly LH? I don't know, but I'd say the golfer who snaps his putter in half has crossed over to the overly left hemispheric way.
Second, yes, I gotta believe Trump is firmly left-hemispheric, but he's not a gnostic. I think my views on today's political scene change every hour, but I'd say he and the Dems are both in thrall to an oligarchical group and each opposing group is vying for power. The main difference (again, I THINK this is the case, as I type this, but I could change my mind by lunch) is that Trump oligarchs crave power and the Democrat oligarchs crave power and also have a strongly gnostic bent that insists reality bend to their distorted vision of the world (Exhibit A: trannies in the girls locker room, but also the unbelievable censorship campaign waged against dissenting views in all areas through Democrat-funded NGOs).
